Pierri called "el Flaco" played for River Plate Montevideo at least in 1975 . Later in 1980 he was also under contract with Peñarol Montevideo . There he was at least in the Clásico on June 11, 1980 (2nd championship matchday) to use and was sent off just twelve minutes after his substitution. With the Aurinegros he won the Liguilla , the Torneo Ciudad de Montevideo and the Torneo Colombes that season . In the league they finished third behind Nacional and the Wanderers . In his position he competed internallyJuan Francisco Muhlethaler .

National team

Pierri was also a member of the Uruguayan national junior team, which took part in the 1975 South American Junior Championship in Peru and won the title. During the tournament, coach Walter Brienza used six times (no goal). In the final, which Uruguay won 3-1 on penalties, Pierri made it 2-0. In 1976, Pierri was used as part of the qualifying games for the 1976 Summer Olympics in Recife , also in the Uruguayan selection trained by Walter Brienza. Uruguay finished second behind Brazil in this qualifying tournament. Contrary to the regulations of the IOC , which forbade the participation of professional players, the Uruguayan officials set up first division players. Therefore, the National Olympic Committee (COU) and the Uruguayan Football Association Asociación Uruguaya de Fútbol (AUF) decided not to participate in the Olympic Games in order to avoid a sanction.
