The Edward VIII Plateau is a domed and icy peninsula between Magnet Bay and Edward VIII Bay on the coast of the East Antarctic Kempland .
Norwegian cartographers mapped them using aerial photographs taken from January to February 1937 during the Lars Christensen Expedition in 1936/37 . Originally known as Gulfplatået (Norwegian for " Golf named plateau"), which took Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) 1958 renamed after the British monarch Edward VIII. Before that in 1965 by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names in accordance with the bay and the ice shelf of the same name was confirmed.
