Edward Rymar
Edward Rymar (born December 28, 1936 in Haczów ) is a Polish historian and Medievalist with a research focus on the history of the Neumark and Pomerania as well as the genealogy of the dynasts .
Life
Rymar studied history at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow . He concluded his studies with a master's thesis on the origin and development of the city of Pyritz. From 1964 he worked at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan with Gerard Labuda . In 1976 he received his doctorate , in 1996 he completed his habilitation at the University of Danzig and in 2004 he received the title of Professor of Humanities. Since 1997 he has been an associate professor at the Institute for History and International Relations at the University of Szczecin .
From 1958 to 1997 he was the head of the district and city library in Pyritz and established a regional museum there. 1964 to 1968 and again from 1990 to 1994 he was a member of the city council in Pyritz. 1995-1998 was a councilor of the Pyrzyce District Council . Rymar has been the editor of a Pyritzer local newspaper since 1994, to which he has been contributing since 1991.
