Eetu Vähäsöyrinki (born April 12, 1990 in Jyväskylä ) is a Finnish Nordic combined .

Career

Eetu Vähäsöyrinki completed his first competitions in the B-World Cup of Nordic Combined in 2005. Between 2008 and 2010 he took part in the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships three times , but did not win a medal. The best result was a ninth place in the 2008 team competition in Zakopane , which he achieved together with Joakim Lehto, Ville Tuppurainen and Mikael Kuhlberg.

On November 26th, 2010 he made his debut in Kuusamo in the Nordic Combined World Cup , but could not finish the Gundersen competition on the large hill with a subsequent cross-country distance of ten kilometers. His first place in the points in this competition series he achieved exactly one year later, also in Kuusamo. On March 5, 2011, he and Joni Karjalainen achieved second place in a team sprint in Kuopio and thus his first podium finish in a competition in the B-World Cup, which was renamed the Continental Cup in 2008 . He was able to repeat this success a little more than a year later, on March 10, 2012, together with Jim Härtull in the same place.

Vähäsöyrinki also competed three times at the Nordic World Ski Championships . Best result was about a seventh place in the team competition at the Ski World Championships in 2011 in the Norwegian Oslo together with Hannu Manninen , Janne Ryynänen and Karjalainen. In individual competitions he did not get beyond a 37th place in 2013 in the Italian Val di Fiemme . At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , he achieved 38th place in both individual competitions.

Eetu Vähäsöyrinki competed in his last international competition on March 6, 2015 at a World Cup in Lahti . He lives in Rovaniemi .
