The Efjord ( Sami : Áhtávuodna ) is a 35 km long and partly 150 m deep fjord in the municipality of Narvik in the province of Nordland . The fjord is about 15 km from the Swedish border.

European route 6 crosses the Efjord over three successive bridges .

fauna

There are large fish stocks in the Efjord. Are represented Numerous in summer and autumn cod , cusk , coalfish (pollock), haddock , pollack , mackerel , halibut , wolf fish , snapper and monkfish ; especially herring in winter .

At sea birds come u. a. Puffins and oystercatchers .

tourism

The fjord is very popular with hikers , mountaineers , divers and anglers . In the latter, especially the fishing area Efjord Sjøhus .
