Egerten is a suburb of the Kandern district of Wollbach in the district of Lörrach ( Baden-Württemberg ).

The place is located in the Wollbachtal within the Southern Black Forest Nature Park , northwest of Nebenau , and has 52 inhabitants. Egerten is located around 1.5 kilometers from Wollbach and around eight kilometers from the core town of Kanderns. The lost place Gryfenwiler (Greifenweiler) was located in the district of Egerten .

In the 13th century the place suffered particularly from the tax collector of St. Blasien , but his pawnshop was burned in the 15th century. At this time the plague raged particularly in Egerten, of which 22 residents died.

The Swiss painter Max Böhlen lived with his family from 1939, with interruptions during the Second World War, in the Jägerhaus in Egerten, which he had acquired. Today a museum in his former home commemorates Böhlen and his works.

With the incorporation of the municipality of Wollbach, Egerten came to the city of Kandern on March 1, 1974.
