Eggerik Beninga
Eggerik Beninga (* 1490 in Grimersum ; † October 19, 1562 ibid) was a Frisian historian from the noble family of Beninga , one of the first statesmen in East Frisia , was Drost to Leerort and at the same time adviser to Countess Anna of East Frisia from 1540–1556 .
Eggerik Beninga wrote an East Frisian chronicle, the Cronica der Fresen , in Low German. It contains the history of the Frisians from the earliest times until 1562.
His tombstone is in the church of Grimersum .
