Press

"... extraordinary Handel interpretation in the Egidienkirche ... musically nothing is left to be desired ... the Egidienchor acted precisely and beautifully, even in solo performances ... absolutely worthy of the festival" (Nürnberger Nachrichten, October 13, 2014)

“What would a concert in the Kulturkirche St. Egidien be without the aesthetic symptomatic of Pia Praetorius' work. This time the Taiwanese choreographer Shang-Chi Sun was supposed to interpret the text of the Requiem by dance. Thanks to the sensitivity of the brilliantly prepared Egidien choir and the radiance of the soloists, the Egidien project made a thoroughly positive impression. ”(Nürnberger Zeitung, October 17, 2011)

“Precisely what may be far from each other inspired Cantor Pia Praetorius in the Egidienkirche in Nuremberg to create an atmospherically dense, successful total work of art made up of early music and video art. ... rich in contrasts and with a flair for fine nuances, Egidienkantor Pia Praetorius unfolds the majestic force of the dialogue between the two choirs standing opposite one another. There was long applause for the performance, rich in reference and musically brilliant, which has arrived in today's reality. ”(Nürnberger Nachrichten, October 18, 2010)

“The idiosyncratic reading of Bach by Pia Praetorius, with which she made the B minor Mass shine in fresh splendor, turned out to be a stroke of luck. 'Bach shines' in the full Egidienkirche convinced with fresh sound contours, a powerful Egidien choir, the lively and colorful music ensemble 'L'Arpa Festante' and excellent soloists. "(Nürnberger Nachrichten, October 12, 2009)

“And it remains an impeccable musical implementation. Cantor Pia Praetorius has brought the baroque specialist ensemble “L'Arpa Festante” from Munich and cheers them on from the podium, has every word of her Egidien choir on her lips - even the one with an impressive performance. In front of a full house, the musical tension hardly let up for more than three hours. ”(Nürnberger Nachrichten, September 24, 2007)

“At the latest in Schubert's Mass in E flat major, Cantor Pia Praetorius has to be congratulated not only for her artistic courage, but also for her chamber choir, which is simply showing a breathtaking performance that evening. From the buttery soft piano to the emphatic forte, she lets Schubert's soul feelings shine through in the mass with the greatest differentiation. A repeat date for this total work of art would have been recommended. ”(Nürnberger Zeitung, October 17, 2006)

"The Egidienchor (a chamber choir) also met the highest standards, and in terms of homogeneity and sound intensity, it does not need to shy away from a comparison with the reference CD recording of the E-flat major mass of the Stuttgart Chamber Choir under Frieder Bernius." (Musik und Kirche 01 / 2007)

“But that evening the really spectacular took place in the sold-out Egidienkirche in the music ... The Egidienchor, which was very well tuned by Pia Praetorius and was wide awake throughout all stages of the performance, deserves a big compliment as well as the complex polyphony as a two-part choir staged impressively in the most blooming moments and was popular due to its ability to characterize in many ways. ”(Nürnberger Zeitung, October 5, 2005)
