Hans Schanderl

Hans Schanderl (born July 19, 1960 in Regensburg ) is a German composer .

Life

From 1982 to 1988 Schanderl completed a diploma course in composition, arrangement and music theory at the Hanover University of Music and Theater , with Anton Plate , Diether de la Motte and Harald Weiss , among others . He supplemented his studies with a semester abroad in Varanasi in 1984 and at the State Conservatory for Classical Turkish Music in Istanbul in 1986. From 1992 to 1994 he pursued an intensive study of polyrhythmic percussion , including through longer study visits to Conakry . He has also been devoting himself to the classic Persian Santoor since 1988 .

Schanderl held various teaching positions , including 1994 to 1997 at the Berlin University of the Arts and since 2009 at the Regensburg University of Catholic Church Music and Music Education .

From 2013 to 2015 he studied at the Center for World Music of the University of Hildesheim Foundation with the ethnomusicologist Prof. Dr. Raimund Vogels in the "musik.welt - cultural diversity in musical education" course.
