Egon Maximilian Lamoral von Thurn und Taxis (born November 17, 1832 in Regensburg , † February 8, 1892 in Vienna ) was a lieutenant colonel of the K. u. K. Austrian Monarchy .

Prince Egon Maximilian was the third son of Prince Maximilian Karl von Thurn und Taxis (born November 3, 1802, † November 10, 1871) and his first wife, Reichsfreiin Wilhelmine von Dörnberg (born March 6, 1803, † May 14, 1835).

Prince Egon's father, Maximilian Karl, was the sixth Prince of Thurn und Taxis from 1827 to 1871 and head of the private Thurn-und-Taxis-Post until 1867 . The prince's mother died early. Wilhelmine, Freiin von Dörnberg ("Mimi") was a beautiful and gentle woman, but she caused quarrels between Maximilian Karl and his family.

Life

Bérbaltavár Castle

Prince Egon, who was born in Regensburg in 1832, lived in Bohemia and at the Hungarian castle of Bérbaltavár. As an enthusiastic sportsman, he was a master of the famous Pardubice hunt for several years. Prince Egon was a popular member of the family and, like his cousin Helene, later Kinsky and lady-in-waiting of Empress Sisi , a member of the Viennese court.

He also died in Vienna in 1892.

Marriage and offspring

On November 11, 1871, married in Écska Viktoria Edelspacher de Gyoryok (* May 11, 1841, † August 17, 1895). The couple had three children:

  • Maximilian Egon (1872-1920)
  • Mathilde (1874–1912)
  • Viktor Theodor (1876–1928)
