Ehrenfried Ullmann
Ehrenfried Ullmann (born August 15, 1932 in Grumbach ) is a former lieutenant general of the National People's Army of the German Democratic Republic .
Life and career
Ehrenfried Ullmann was born into a working class family in the Grumbach district of Annaberg. After graduating from high school, he learned the profession of miner from 1951 to 1952.
Military career
Education and Uses
Ehrenfried Ullmann joined the armed organs of the GDR as a volunteer applicant on August 15, 1953 and completed an officer training course for the barracked people's police . After passing the final exam and the appointment of an officer he was given the rank of second lieutenant his first troops use as technicians a flyer chain in the former Aero Club Cottbus.
After a two-year candidate period, he became a member of the SED in 1954 . In 1956 he was employed as a squadron engineer in Fliegergeschwader 1 , then in Fliegergeschwader 2 of the newly created air force of the NVA.
From 1958 to 1959 he was employed as head of aviation engineering in Fighter Wing 3 . In 1960 Ullmann switched to the LSK / LV Aviation School in Bautzen, where he was appointed head of the aviation engineering service. In 1962 he moved to the Aviation Technical School of the LSK / LV in Kamenz, where he also became Head of Aviation Engineering .
In 1964 he was transferred to the LSK / LV command . Here he was initially deputy head of the aviation engineering service and in 1966 himself head of the aviation engineering service .
Service as a general
As part of a reorganization in the LSK / LV command, his previous post from 1972 to 1983 was relocated to the Deputy Head of LSK / LV and Head of Rear Services and was renamed as Deputy of the Head of Rear Services for Technology .
In this post, Colonel Ullmann was appointed major general on October 7, 1980 and on October 7, 1987 he was promoted to lieutenant general.

In the course of further structural changes, his post was upgraded in 1983, now as deputy head of the LSK / LV for technology and maintenance . In 1987 E. Ullmann was transferred to the Ministry for National Defense (MfNV). Until his release on September 30, 1990, he was Head of Armament and Repair in the area of the Deputy Minister for Technology and Armament .
