The Eichelspitzturm
View from the tower to the west

The Eichelspitzturm is a 42.5 meter high observation tower that was built jointly by the mobile operator O 2 , the neighboring communities of Eichstetten , Bötzingen , Bahlingen and Vogtsburg im Kaiserstuhl , the “Eichelspitzturm eV” association, and the state of Baden-Württemberg in 2006. The tower is named after the Eichelspitze , the second highest elevation in the Kaiserstuhl .

From the viewing platform at a height of 28 meters you have a comprehensive view of the Black Forest , the Vosges and the Kaiserstuhl itself. The tower can be reached from Eichstetten via the Geo-Path , an educational trail that deals with the rock types of the Kaiserstuhl.

A surveying scaffold originally stood here. This was replaced in 2001 by a temporary tower with a viewing platform at a height of 27 m. This was very well received by hikers, so that the idea for the Eichelspitzturm came up and was implemented.
