history

The settlement was built as a preliminary work of the Gielsdorf manor between 1840 and 1843. The topographical-statistical overview of the government district of Potsdam and the city of Berlin from 1841 (status 1840) does not yet mention this preliminary work. However, it is already drawn in as Gielsdorfer Vw. In the original table sheet 3299 Prötzel from 1843 . In 1860 it was officially called Oak Brandy . The local statistics of the government district Potsdam with the city of Berlin. from 1861 describes it as 1 ab. Vorw. (1860 ben. oak fire) . With the formation of the administrative districts in Prussia, Eichenbrand was assigned to the administrative district 14 Hirschfelde. Head of office was the owner of the manor from Schmidt auf Hirschfelde, his deputy administrator Waldau auf Gielsdorf. At that time Eichenbrandt was part of the Gielsdorf estate, which belonged to the Oberbarnim district .

The official spelling changed between Eichenbrand and Eichenbrandt until after 1900 . The first evidence of Eichenbrandt was found as early as 1873 . The measuring table sheet 3349 Prötzel from 1888 also uses the Eichenbrandt spelling . In the alphabetical index of all the towns and districts in the Potsdam administrative district from 1897, the spelling Eichenbrand can still be found. Even in Niekammer's agricultural address book of manors, estates and farms in the province of Brandenburg from 1929, the spelling oak brandy can still be found .

In 1857 Gielsdorf and Wilkendorf belonged to the brothers Richard Balduin Ernst von Pfuel (1827–1900) and Gustav Bertram Felix von Pfuel, also in 1863. In 1873, the Gielsdorf and Eichenbrandt estate was administered by an administrator Waldau. 16 people lived in the Eichenbrandt estate at that time. In 1879, knighthood director Gustav von Pfuel, now the sole owner, had the estate managed by a certain Wagner. Richard von Pfuel followed in 1903. In 1907, Dr. Georg von Caro , Privy Councilor of Commerce in Berlin, owner of the two manors. He let the inspector Hermann Frehse manage it. Dr. Georg von Caro died on September 22, 1913 in Wilkendorf. The goods address book for the province of Brandenburg from 1914 still lists him as the owner; apparently the editorial deadline was before September 1913.

In 1921 ownership had changed, Gielsdorf and Wilkendorf now belonged to Franz Wolf, Major a. D. and his wife. He had leased Gielsdorf and Wilkendorf to Otto Busse. But he had the Gielsdorf estate administered by a senior inspector Petzel. The Gielsdorf manor district measured 1437 hectares at that time. Oak brandy is not specifically reported.

In 1929 Mrs. Caroline Wolf was the sole owner of the Gielsdorf and Wilkendorf estates. Otto Busse was still the leaseholder, Petzel was the chief inspector in Gielsdorf.

In 1928 the Gielsdorf estate (and thus also Eichenbrandt) was merged with the Gielsdorf community. Eichenbrandt was designated as the residential area of the Gielsdorf community in 1932 and 1957. In 1964 and 1974 it was then part of Gielsdorf. In the district reform of 1952, Gielsdorf moved to the new Strausberg district .

In 1993 Gielsdorf formed together with five other communities and the town of Altlandsberg the Altlandsberg office . The Altlandsberg office was dissolved in 2002, and the municipalities belonging to the office were incorporated into the town of Altlandsberg. Since then, Gielsdorf has been a district of Altlandsberg, Eichenbrandt is a municipality of Gielsdorf without its own local authority.
