Gielsdorf is a district of the town of Altlandsberg in the Märkisch-Oderland district in Brandenburg .

geography

The place is eleven kilometers northeast of Altlandsberg. The neighboring towns are Stadtstelle and Prötzel in the northeast, Wilkendorf in the east, Gartenstadt and Friedrich-Schiller-Höhe in the southeast, Beyond the Lake in the south, Spitzmühle and Wesendahler Mühle in the southwest, Wesendahl in the west and Rudolfshöhe , Hirschfelde and Eichenbrandt in the northwest.

history

Gielsdorf was first mentioned in a document in the Carolinisches Landbuch from 1375. It got its name from the German founding family Giselbert, who came to the country with the Anhalt family in the 13th century . Thus, from Gieselmann Bertsdorf later Gielsdorf that from 1430 partially, and from 1460 to 1924 completely owned by the aristocratic family which Pfuel was.

The church is a late Romanesque field stone building from the 13th century. It consists of a nave , a recessed rectangular choir with apse , and the west tower. The windows on the north side have largely been preserved in their original condition. Inside the church there is a medieval winged altar . The altar (approx. 1460) came from Wilkendorf in 1975 , which was also in Pfuel's possession. The pulpit dates from the 19th century. The gallery on the west and north side of the nave is from 1610. The church has two bells from 1517 and 1615. In the church there is a tombstone of Friedrich von Pfuel (1462–1527), who died in 1527 . The tombstone was originally located in the old Berlin Cathedral . The crypt of the von Pfuel family is no longer accessible.
