action

The photographer Victoria "Vicky" Körner is met by her husband Nico at the airport in Mallorca . The couple seeking a divorce still get along well. Vicky has come to the island to sign the documents for the joint petition for divorce and to arrange the modalities for the purchase of the house that belongs to her husband and her in Palma . Vicky and Nico have lived separately for almost ten years. Their daughter Jenny has lived with her mother in Hamburg since her parents separated.

Since Nico causes an accident on the way to the judge, the couple is a little late. Both learn from the secretary that the judge was also involved in an accident, which meant that the appointment had to be postponed because the judge was on sick leave. During their unplanned stay in Mallorca, Vicky and Nico get closer again, although the star restaurateur lives in a steady relationship with the much younger Lucia Barreto. There are also difficulties with the sale of the house that the Mallorcan Javier Maragall lives as a tenant. However, the potential buyer only wants to buy the house if there is no longer a tenancy. The sale comes to a standstill because Maragall refuses to move out and insists that the lease signed with him be adhered to. The Mallorcan is a marine biologist and also advocates that greedy realtors do not sell more and more houses on the island to rich foreigners, which also drives up prices so that many locals are hardly able to find affordable housing Find.

Vicky, who was quite ready to get involved with her husband again, has to discover that he is still as kid's head as he was ten years ago and doesn't take anything seriously. The complete opposite of Nico is Javier Maragall, who Vicky likes more and more. His restraint is beneficial, and she is touched by his seriousness. Unfortunately, Nico thwarted her plan by permanently disrupting the trust that has just developed between Javier and Vicky with a deliberate action.

So Vicky makes the decision to fly back to Hamburg with her daughter and her boyfriend, who are also on the island, after the divorce papers have been signed. However, the trio's car is stopped on the drive to the airport by Javier, who asks Vicky the unusual question whether Stralsund is beautiful and whether he might like it there. Javier has received an offer from the city and signals to Vicky that he can imagine a future with her. Vicky says goodbye happily with the promise to see you again in Stralsund. There is also news from Nico, his girlfriend Lucia is pregnant.

production

Production notes, filming, background

Banyalbufar, where quite a few scenes were filmed

It is an Ariane Krampe film production. The editor was Rita Nasser. The film was shot on Mallorca from October 16 to November 10, 2017. The scene with the dilapidated house was taken in the Serra de Tramuntana , and other photos were taken in Banyalbufar . Other locations include Portitxol and the noble port of Port Adriano . The Swiss Gregory B. Waldis practiced the Spanish accent that his role required with a coach for several weeks.

Ariane Krampe, who produced the film with her company, was interviewed by Lars Kreye, and the question was also asked whether the series would end with this film. Krampe replied that the series Ein Sommer in / auf ... was one of the most successful Sunday evening series in the context of the Herzkino broadcasting station. You offered this series to ZDF many years ago. She has produced a large number of the now 26 films and the next episode is already being planned, entitled A Summer in Oxford . In the Mallorca production there were many Spaniards on the team, some from the mainland, some directly from the island. They wanted to shed light on Mallorca, "the Germans' favorite island", in all its diversity. Mallorca was the perfect place for this comedy.

criticism

TV Spielfilm kept its thumbs straight, gave one of three possible points for humor, action, tension and eroticism and said: “Flirtation tailored to target groups, partly sincere in tone, partly penetrating clichéd. The gentle criticism of gentrification seems dutifully ticked off. ”Conclusion:“ Luxury problems in front of a stylish Malle backdrop. ”

Rainer Tittelbach from tittelbach.tv gave four out of six possible stars and praised the film “goes well with the best ZDF Sunday series”, because the film shows “the other face of the Balearic Island, beyond Ballermann and overcrowded beaches”. Tittelbach continued: “The 'Ein Sommer' series is and remains the exception to the ZDF 'Herzkino' rule. In Florian Gärtner's film, the country and its people, everyday life and the situation flow intelligently and calmly into the pleasantly undramatic story. It is as easy as adult entertainment, well cast and filmed in a relaxed manner. ”Tittelbach found it was one of the“ special achievements of the film ”to have incorporated the“ social aspect of gentrification into the story in a relaxed manner ”.
