action
The three sisters Irmgard Schulze-Knopf, Olga Knopf and Mathilde Lehmberg spend their holidays together in Thuringia every year. But this time her vacation is not possible because her vacation room is being renovated and is not available. This is not the only shock for Irmgard, because she has just found out that her daughter Yvonne and Olga's foster son Tassilo are lovers. To her further annoyance, she has to find out that Olga knew about it and did not tell her about it. Irmgard feels betrayed and is pissed off at her family. To make matters worse, Mathilde appears and causes further displeasure. She worries about her professional future. Since she will retire in a few months, her previous job has been given to a young colleague and she will work in the office. In the meantime Irmgard has collected himself and accepts her new son-in-law, but would like him to work with her in the café. This leads to an argument between the couple and in the end drives Tassilo out of the house because he does not want to be exploited. As luck would have it, a new holiday destination is unexpectedly found. Irmgard's lodger, Meinhard Seidenspinner, gets them an adventure vacation with his aunt Betty on the Baltic Sea, who owns a hotel ship on the coast, the old frigate “Santa Esmeralda”. The alternative holiday destination is not for simple guests, because the admission requirement is that you have to be a circus performer to spend the night on the frigate. The three sisters therefore have to improvise with their subtenant's aunt, which is not too difficult for them. Meinhard Seidenspinner introduces the new guests as the Button Sisters and Captain Betty wants to see a test of their skills right away. But before that happens, a guest who accidentally went overboard has to be rescued, and silk spinner has to comfort his old friend, the snake tamer Dodo, who has a minor drinking problem and who has just been fired. Irmgard and Mathilde do not like to see that, because each of the two gives themselves hope in the attractive bachelor. With all the mess, they didn't notice that Dodo's giant snake had crawled out of its basket and is now crawling around somewhere on the frigate. While everyone is looking for Rosie, the animal has wriggled around Olga's neck, who fortunately didn't notice the whole thing while half asleep. Betty's grandson knows how to handle Rosie and immediately puts her back in her basket. Captain Betty takes this as an opportunity to expose the three lovely sisters.
