action
The film is about the unsuccessful porn director Yoshimoto "Subu" Ogata, who has a relationship with the widow Haru. He is the father of a son and a daughter. Haru believes that her late husband was reincarnated as a carp and therefore owns an aquarium with a carp in it. As soon as the carp jumps, Haru believes, her husband is dissatisfied with her behavior. Subu soon develops an interest in Harus' underage daughter, Keiko. When she rejects him, Subu begins to fabricate his dream woman himself.
criticism
"Rather distant and amused, director Imamura targets the sexual neuroses of his compatriots through his tragicomic hero."
