Operational training

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term deployment training (ETR) / situation training (SIT) is understood to mean the realistic representation of operations in the context of training fire brigades , rescue services , police , customs and the military . Decisive criteria for emergency training are: Realistic representation of an entire scenario, typical stress, dynamic development of the situation according to the measures taken, interaction with other emergency services and not just training a single skill .

The action force (s) must make decisions in a 1: 1 time window, initiate measures and check their success. The operational training brings together the procedures, measures and tactics that have been individually learned in advance in a scenario.

The operational training is a practical training and examination subject at German police forces , in which theoretically learned content is put into practice. This is done based on everyday police work and conceivable scenarios .

Situations are set that an officer in training has to deal with correctly in every respect, be it from the legal, factual, organizational or process-oriented point of view (the latter: police service knowledge including self-protection ). It is important that the police student handle the situation as if it were actually happening. This includes practice guards, real vehicles, aggressive interferers and the use of operational resources. The operational resources (especially the armament) are usually ineffective dummies so as not to injure colleagues.

That is why the operational training begins with checking the personal equipment and all other command and control equipment . Then the deployed officer is sent a typical incident which he then has to deal with. During processing, the instructors then monitor whether the student is acting correctly. This observation extends to legal issues, to correct and polite treatment of those involved. Some training centers film the action.

After such a case is over, there is often a debriefing in which the student faces criticism from the trainer.

At the Bavarian Police , operational training is an examination subject for the career test in middle and senior service.

In the field of fire brigades, depicting the situation in the event of fires and traffic accidents is much more complex and difficult. The representation of a fire in a training situation must be controllable at all times and does not consist of the simple lighting of objects. The operational training differs significantly here.

Fire exercises (also known as hot exercises ) may take place at the local / community level. a. with mobile fire simulation systems . Fixed fire houses are regularly kept at the state fire brigade schools for this purpose . The aim of the operational exercises using such simulation systems is to train the fire fighters to deal with the physical and psychological stresses that can prevail in the field, as well as to practice training breathing apparatus wearers and fire fighting under realistic conditions.

In the area of technical assistance - if necessary using the realistic accident representation - patient- friendly rescue is trained with the help of the hydraulic rescue kit.

Ambulance service

In the area of emergency services is MegaCode training the most common form of the use of training. In order to induce the typical stress during operational training, a realistic representation of the situation is required. In the medical field, the realistic representation of accidents is used for this.

armed forces

All soldiers who are deployed abroad complete a type of operational training. The preparatory training abroad consists of several parts that build on each other, e.g. B. the PSO ( Peace Support Operation ) training and the ZenTrA (Central Troop Training) in Wildflecken. In these courses, the soldier is taught the necessary “tools” that are called up afterwards in small exercises. Usually the situations are addressed beforehand at the sandpit before they are then run through in the group / train frame. These are then discussed and better possible solutions conveyed.
