Eirik Kurland Olsen (born March 23, 1987 ) is a Norwegian cross-country skier .

Career

Olsen, who starts for the Lillehammer Skiklub , ran his first races in the Continental Cup in Hommelvik in February 2004 . There he finished 82nd place over 10 km classic and 73rd place over 15 km freestyle. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2006 in Kranj , he won the gold medal with the relay. He was also eighth over 10 km classic and seventh in the skiathlon . The following year he won the gold medal in the skiathlon at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Tarvisio . He completed his first of a total of three World Cup races in March 2009 in Trondheim . He came in 22nd place in the 50 km mass start race and got his first and only World Cup points. In the 2009/10 season he reached four top ten placements, including third place over 15 km classic in Åsarna , tenth place in the overall ranking of the Scandinavian Cup . At the U23 World Championships in 2010 in Hinterzarten , he finished ninth over 15 km classic.
