Dhamara Ghat railway accident

In the railway accident Dhamara Ghat went on 19 August 2013, the station of Dhamara Ghat , in the Indian state of Bihar , a train in a group of people who unlawfully the railroad crossing. At least 37 people died.

Starting position

The train from Samastipur , which was to continue to Saharsa , had arrived at Dhamara station . Numerous travelers got off on the side of the train facing away from the platform and ran over the tracks .

The Super Fast Express No. 12567, Rajya Rani , of Indian Railways , was traveling from Saharsa to Patna Junction station at about 80 km / h. He was supposed to pass through the Dhamara Ghat station around 8:40 am without stopping and the signals indicated that the passage through the station was “free to travel”.

The travelers who crossed the tracks illegally saw the train coming, but thought they could stop it. As the train drivers , people remarked on the tracks, he immediately initiated an emergency maneuver , but could not last more before he went into the crowd to train.

consequences

37 people died and 24 others were injured.

Angry travelers hit the train driver unconscious and set fire to two cars of the Rajya Rani Express on.
