El verdugo de Sevilla (German: The executioner of Seville ) is a Mexican film from the year 1942. The director of this film comedy led Fernando Soler , who also plays a starring role. The script was written by Enrique García Álvarez and Paulino Masip .

action

Doña Nieves runs a guest house in Madrid. Her daughter, Presentita, is in love with Rosendito and wants to marry him. However, her father cannot lead her to the altar because he, the Italian Sansoni, has been missing for a long time and is considered dead. Nieves wants to marry the guest Bonifacio so that Presentita has a father again. But first Bonifacio has to find work. Through a friend he got the job of the executioner in Seville . He accepts the job because of a misunderstanding: he thinks he should kill rabbits ( conejos ), but in fact he is supposed to execute a criminal nicknamed El Conejos . At the last minute, Bonifacio is saved from the execution of the sentence, as the criminal is pardoned. In the meantime, Sansoni has reappeared, but marries Madame Perrin so that Nieves and Bonifacio can finally celebrate their wedding.

The film El verdugo de Sevilla was based on a play by Pedro Muñoz Seca . It was produced by the Films Mundiales production company and premiered in Mexico on November 28, 1942. The film was first shown in Spain on January 19, 1953. Ricardo Montalbán made his debut as an actor in this film.
