Eladio Benítez , full name Eladio Benítez Amuedo , (born February 24, 1939 in Uruguay - † October 23, 2018 ) was a Uruguayan football player and coach.
Career
societies
Offensive player Benítez began his career at the age of 14 in 1953 at the Racing Club de Montevideo . From 1957 to 1963 he was a member of the club's professional team. On July 21, 1957, he met the 5-2 win against Liverpool Montevideo as part of the Torneo Competencia as the first player in the club's history four times in a championship game in the opposing goal. He was also in the 1958 season with 16 goals scored top scorer in the Segunda División . In 1964 he moved abroad, where he worked for Deportes Temuco , Green Cross and Unión La Calera . In the 1969/70 season, a career station at Rangers de Talca is recorded for him. For the Chileans he scored three goals in nine appearances. He later also worked as a coach at Rangers de Talca.
National team
Benítez made his debut on July 28, 1957 in the Uruguayan senior team . He played a total of six international matches. He scored a goal. His last international game in the "Celeste" dated August 15, 1962. As early as March 1959, he took part with Uruguay in the South American Championship . He then also belonged to the squad at the second South American Championship that year in December 1959 that won the continental title.
