Elena Stoffel (born May 27, 1996 ) is a Swiss ski racer . She currently belongs to the Swiss-Ski B-team and specializes in the technical disciplines of slalom and giant slalom .

biography

Elena Stoffel comes from Unterbäch in Upper Valais and starts for SC Ginals-Unterbäch. In 2016 she completed the sports school at the Kollegium Spiritus Sanctus in Brig .

At the age of 15 she competed in her first FIS races on the Diavolezza . A year later, she made her debut in the European Cup , but was only able to classify in the points sporadically in the following winters. In February 2013 she took part in the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival in Poiana Brașov , where she narrowly missed a medal as fourth in the slalom. She competed three times at the Junior World Championships . She achieved her best result with sixth place in slalom when she participated in Hafjell for the first time in 2015 . A year later in Sochi she finished 16th in the giant slalom, in Åre she was eliminated in both technical races in 2017.

On March 14, 2015, she made her World Cup debut in the Åre slalom . After two seasons in the European Cup in which she had not played in the World Cup, she won her first points in January 2018 with 18th place in Kranjska Gora . Her best World Cup result so far was achieved on March 9, 2019 with 14th place in the slalom in Špindlerův Mlýn .
