Elena Marie Walendzik (* 1984 ) is a German amateur boxer ; she is six-time German champion, including German boxing champion 2011 in bantamweight , vice-European champion and qualified for the 2012 World Cup.

Life

After school, Elena Walendzik studied dentistry at the Hannover Medical School . This was followed by military service in the sports promotion group of the Bundeswehr , u. a. together with Bianca Schmidt in 2010 as a sports soldier in the Clausewitz barracks (Nienburg / Weser). Later she was stationed in the sports promotion company in the Olympic base in Heidelberg . Waledzik first trained at fit-boxen-Hannover under Rolf Müller, who introduced her to professional boxing. In order to be able to take part in championships, she had to change coaches, joined the boxing sports club Hannover-Seelze and was trained there by Arthur Mattheis from then on. Elena Walendzik has been working as a dentist in Hanover since her boxing career ended in 2013.

Walendzik's diet is vegetarian.

Athletic performance

The DBV reports that Elena Walendzik (BSK Seelze), Pinar Yilmaz (ASV Wuppertal) and Ulrike Brückner (MTV Munich) won bronze at the European Championships in Liverpool in August 2008 . Walendzik won the 2011 German championship in the final against Ornella Wahner on points (11:13). In 2012, Walendzik took part in the women's boxing world championship in Qinhuangdao , China , but was unable to win a medal. In autumn 2012 Walendzik played three more fights for the DBV in South Africa and was honored as the best boxer and best technician. She ended her career as a boxer with 60 fights.
