Eleanor of Montfort

Eleonore von Montfort († May 24, 1610 ) was an abbess of the free worldly Buchau women's monastery in what is now Bad Buchau am Federsee .

Life

Eleonore was the daughter of Hugo von Montfort and Magdalena von Schwarzenberg . Her aunt Margarete von Montfort , a sister of her father, was abbess of the monastery from 1540 to 1556. She was elected abbess on July 21, 1594 by the chapter. In the same year she compared herself with the community of Tiefenbach with regard to the monastery property. During the rest of her reign, she performed the usual acts of an abbess. In 1605 she set an anniversary date on May 25th of the respective year.

She died on May 24, 1610.
