Eley Peak is a 2280 m high rocky peak in the northern part of the Soholt Peaks in the West Antarctic Heritage Range . The summit overlooks the head of the Balish Glacier . The Yochelson Ridge extends from here to the north-northwest .
Eley Peak was mapped by the United States Geological Survey as part of the survey of the Ellsworth Mountains in 1961-66 through field surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the summit after Richard G. Eley of the United States Navy. Eley flew in the Antarctic summers of 1965/66 and 1966/67 as a photographer on flights over Marie-Byrd-Land and Ellsworthland .
