Eliška Krejčová

Eliška Krejčová , b. Fürstová (born September 11, 1927 in Kralupy nad Vltavou ) is a Czech table tennis player . She won seven bronze medals at world championships .

Career

Eliška Fürstová came into contact with table tennis at the age of 10. She joined the TTK Kralupy association, where her talent was quickly discovered and promoted. She later moved to the Sparta Prague association . After the Second World War she became a member of the Czech national team. She won the national championship of Czechoslovakia 17 times in singles and doubles, around 1954 and 1956; she also won eleven titles with the team from Sparta Prague. After their marriage in 1947, she performed under the name Krejčová .

Eliška Krejčová participated in at least five world championships , where she won a total of seven bronze medals:

In October 1951 she was seventh in the ITTF world rankings .

After the table tennis world championship in 1957 , she announced her resignation from the national team. She returned to her hometown of Kralupy in the late 1950s, then ended her career.

After the death of her husband in the late 1990s, she became active again, appeared in international senior tournaments and took several top places here:

    • 1997: AK-Ü70 victory in the individual
    • 2007: AK-Ü80 victory in doubles with Sabine Kramer (Weimar, GER)
    • 2009: AK-Ü80 2nd place in the individual
    • 2011: AK-Ü80 2nd place in doubles with Sabine Kramer (Weimar, GER)
    • 2013: AK-Ü85 victory in singles, victory in doubles with Laimdota Jordane (LAT)
    • 2017: AK-Ü85 victory in doubles with Birte Hauth (DEN)
  • Senior World Championships
    • 2010: AK-Ü80 3rd place in the individual
    • 2012: AK-Ü85 victory in the individual

In 2015, on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Czech Table Tennis Association, she was accepted into the Hall of Fame of Czech Table Tennis.

Private

Eliška Krejčová studied economics in Prague. In 1947 she married the butcher O. Krejčí, who died in the 1990s.
