Elia van Scirouvsky (born September 25, 1970 in Marienberg ) is a German author and presenter. According to the moderator, "Elia van Scirouvsky" is a pseudonym.

Life

Scirouvsky was born in the Ore Mountains as the youngest of four children. After attending a ten-class polytechnic high school , he began training as a machine fitter in the Marienberg spring factory in autumn 1987. He then spent four years as a soldier, initially in the NVA , and after 1989 in the Bundeswehr . From 1993 to 1995 he retrained to become a tiler , after which he was a salesman in Marienberg. In 1999 he completed a welding course and in September of the same year began his Abitur at the Erzgebirgskolleg in Breitenbrunn / Erzgeb. to catch up. He has lived in Leipzig since October 2002 and studied German teaching and ethics / philosophy at grammar schools until June 2008. Scirouvsky is currently a freelance writer and presenter.

On October 7, 1994 he presented his first reading program “VANITAS - Images of Transience” in the Theater Variabel in Olbernhau . He then set up two more reading programs: “Gone are the days of fine words ...” and “... a miracle will happen one day”. In addition to readings, both his own and texts by other authors, in Germany, he has performed several times in the Czech Republic . After his publications of mostly dark romantic poetry, he brought out Volume I of the edition “Little Book for a Divided Pillow” in 2005, in which erotic short stories or small compilations of erotic poetry appear. The fifth volume of poetry Between Alpha and Omega and the Flight of the Soul , published by Angela Hackbarth Verlag in early March 2009 , was designed as an overall artistic concept and represents a novelty in the field of book art. The book consists of two triangular parts that together form a unit form.

Elia van Scirouvsky is a co-founder of the Marienberger Kulturversuch , which was launched in 1997 and which he helped organize until 2002. In Leipzig, van Scirouvsky was the moderator and organizer of the authors' lounge within the EAST END - the Reudnitzer Kulturnacht (2005 to 2007 and 2009). Since the beginning of 2010, Elia van Scirouvsky has moderated the literary series Der Durstige Pegasus, alternating with Norbert Marohn. At the end of 2008 he was a co-founder of Literatur im Erzgebirge - a free association of authors, librarians, booksellers, publishers, organizers, editors and people interested in culture. In 2013 Scirouvsky was on the preliminary jury for the 18th MDR literary competition , which selected the finalists from around 2,000 submitted texts.

Elia van Scirouvsky is a member of the Friedrich Bödecker Circle in the Free State of Saxony e. V. and in the Association of German Writers (since November 2010 on the Board and since February 2011 Deputy Chairman of the Board of the State Association of Saxony).
