Life

Elias Jentzsch studied 1615/16 first in Leipzig , then until 1621 at the University of Wittenberg . Presumably he was a student of the Wittenberg professor and philologist August Buchner . In 1624 he took over the office of city judge in Dresden and from that point on was a member of the council for life. He was also the administrator of the maternity hospital's hospital office .

In 1642 he became the ruling mayor for the first time and, according to the council regulations, he also held this office in 1645, 1648 and 1651.

At the beginning of September 1622 he married Margaretha Fickler (born November 11, 1603 in Altendresden ; † July 22, 1638). In the almost 16 years of marriage they had nine children, five of whom died before their mother. In 1643 Jentzsch married the widow of Dr. Paul Nicolai, Dorothea (1588–1653) b. Buchner. He died on April 15, 1652 in Dresden and was buried six days later in the Frauenkirchhof .
