Elina Rönnlund (born October 14, 1996 ) is a Swedish cross-country skier .

Career

Rönnlund, who competes for IFK Umeå , ran her first races in the Scandinavian Cup in Östersund in January 2013 , finishing 81st in the 10 km freestyle and 55th in the sprint. Her best placements at the 2013 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival in Predeal were 22nd place in the sprint and tenth place in the mixed relay. The following year she became Swedish junior sprint champion and came 14th in sprint at the 2014 Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Val di Fiemme . At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2015 in Almaty , she came in 22nd place over 5 km freestyle, 18th place in skiathlon and 11th place in sprint. She made her debut in the World Cup in February 2015 in Östersund, which she finished in 57th place in the sprint. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2016 in Râşnov , she won the gold medal with the relay. In addition, she took 23rd place over 5 km classic and fourth place in the sprint. In 2018 and 2019 she became Swedish champion with the IFK Umeå relay together with Linn Sömskar and Jonna Sundling . At the U23 World Championships in Lahti in 2019 , she finished 18th in the 15 km mass start race, 16th place over 10 km freestyle and 12th place in the sprint. In February 2019 she got her first World Cup points in Cogne with 28th place in the sprint. At the beginning of March 2019 she achieved third place over 5 km classic on the mini tour in Madona and finally reached sixth place in the overall ranking of the Scandinavian Cup. In the 2019/20 season, she finished 22nd at the Ruka Triple and at the Tour de Ski 2019/20 and thus reached 49th place in the overall World Cup. In addition, she was third in the relay in Lillehammer .
