Elio Bartolini

Elio Bartolini (born April 20, 1922 in Conegliano , † April 30, 2006 in Santa Marizza , Varmo ) was an Italian writer , screenwriter and film director .

Life

Bartolini spent his childhood in Codroipo and after finishing school he studied literature and philosophy in Padua . During the Second World War , in which he fought on the side of the Friulian partisans and was honored, he wrote his first stories.

In 1950 Bartolini moved to Milan and now published with Mondadori ; his first work received several awards and was translated into Portuguese. In 1955 La bellezza d'Ippolita was also successful, had several editions, several translations and was made into a film over the years. This was followed by a successful collaboration with director Michelangelo Antonioni , for whom Bartolini wrote three scripts; further work for the film followed. By 1965 he wrote about ten scripts and was also represented in magazines with essays and columns. He also wrote pieces for the stage.

In 1963 he turned back to novels; his most successful of the following decades were pontificals in San Marco (1978), La linea dell'ariduca (1980) and Racconti catolici (1990). He also worked as a biographer a few times.

In 1975 he directed and wrote the feature film L'altro Dio , an analysis of the family in today's industrial society.
