Elisa Desco (born May 30, 1982 ) is an Italian long-distance and mountain runner .

At the Mountain Running World Championships 2007 in Ovronnaz she was fourth and won bronze with the Italian team. In 2008 she finished fourth in the Turin Marathon , won the European Mountain Running Championships in Zell am Harmersbach , won bronze in both the individual and team competitions at the World Mountain Running Championships in Sierre / Crans-Montana and won the Mezza half marathon.

In 2009 she was the first to cross the finish line at the World Mountain Running Championships in Madesimo / Campodolcino , but was tested positive for the erythropoietin derivative CERA during the subsequent doping control . After a year and a half trial, she was disqualified for this doping offense and suspended by the Italian Anti-Doping Tribunal until August 28, 2012.
