Elisabeth Brönner

Elisabeth Brönner (born February 19, 1880 in Schuppinnen , Ragnit district ; † February 2, 1950 in Potsdam-Babelsberg , born Elisabeth Höpfner ) was a German politician of the DDP .

Life and work

After attending the elementary school in Schmalleningken , Elisabeth Brönner, who was of Protestant faith, switched to the secondary school for girls in Tilsit , which she graduated in 1896. Then she completed the local teachers' seminar there until 1899. In addition to her work as a teacher in Wilhelmshaven and later in the Posen area and the Berlin area, she attended the University of Berlin as a guest student during the school holidays . From 1905 to 1907 she was editor of the Berlin housewife newspaper Frauenreich and since 1912 editor of the journal Korrespondenz Frauenreich in Königsberg . From 1916 to 1919 she was editor of the Hartungschen Zeitung . In addition, she was the managing director of the Königsberger Goethebund and author of short stories, novellas and novels dealing with East Prussian and memeland topics. After the First World War she moved to Babelsberg .

Political party

During the German Empire, Elisabeth Brönner was a board member of the progressive electoral association in Königsberg. In 1918 she participated in the founding of the DDP .

MPs

Brönner was a member of the Weimar National Assembly in 1919/20. She then belonged to the Reichstag until the election of the East Prussian MPs on February 20, 1921.
