Elisabeth Brock-Sulzer
Elisabeth Brock-Sulzer (born January 25, 1903 in Elgg ; † October 16, 1981 in Zurich ) was a Swiss high school teacher , journalist and translator .
Life
After attending the Zurich Higher Daughter School , she studied Romance Studies at the University of Zurich , where she received her doctorate in 1927 . She then worked as a high school teacher, journalist and translator. From 1931 to 1968 she was the main teacher at the daughter school in Zurich. From 1945 to 1977 she wrote articles for the daily newspaper Die Tat .
Brock-Sulzer was a leading Zurich acting critic. Right from the start she campaigned for Friedrich Dürrenmatt and his work. She also translated some works by Charles-Ferdinand Ramuz .
Elisabeth Brock-Sulzer was married to the philosopher Erich Brock (1889–1976) from 1931 .
