Elisabeth Franke

Elisabeth Franke (also: Elisabet Franke , Elisabeth Franke-Loofs , married name: Elisabeth Loofs ; born March 27, 1886 in Kiel , † April 10, 1931 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German writer .

Life

Elisabeth Franke was the eldest daughter of the theologian August Hermann Franke . From 1888 she spent her childhood temporarily in Menton and Montreux ; after the death of her father in 1891 she lived in Halle (Saale) . She attended a secondary school for girls and received private lessons . From 1907 to 1908 she completed a Bible course in the Malche women's mission school in Freienwalde (Oder) ; afterwards she worked as a secretary of the mission organization "German Aid Association for Christian Love in the Orient", which is active in Armenia . She last lived in Freiburg im Breisgau .

In addition to her professional activity, Elisabeth Franke wrote missionary stories for young people. Her most successful book was the novel Das große Stille Leuchten , published in 1912, which was reprinted until the 1950s .
