After her father's death in 1787, Elisabeth moved with her mother and two sisters to Arnhem to live with her brother. In 1792, after the death of her mother, Elisabeth moved to Velp with her eldest sister Adriana Maria . In 1794 she met Justus Lodewijk Overdorp, a pastor eight years her junior, whom she married on July 23, 1794 in Velp. In 1807 she moved with her husband to Epe where, after a long illness, she died on July 3, 1812.
