Elisabeth Schawerda

Elisabeth Schawerda (born April 20, 1940 in Bad Vöslau ) is an Austrian poet.

Life

Elisabeth Schawerda grew up in Sooss near Baden in a winegrowing family and graduated from high school in Baden . She studied German language and literature and art history at the University of Vienna and received her doctorate in 1965. phil.

Schawerda has been publishing essays in feature sections in newspapers and magazines since 1981, especially in the literary magazine Morgen and in the weekly newspaper Die Furche . The lyric is the profession of shaving Werda.

She is a member of the Austrian PEN Club and a member of the Podium literature group .

Schawerda is married and has three children. She has lived in Vienna since 1985 .
