Elisabeth Wandeler deck

Elisabeth Wandeler-Deck (nee Elisabeth Deck ; born June 28, 1939 in Zurich ) is a Swiss writer, psychotherapist and sociologist .

Live and act

Elisabeth Deck grew up in Zug and initially studied architecture at the ETH Zurich . She graduated there in 1963 and married Hugo Wandeler in the same year. Work stays in Vienna , Helsinki , Paris and Constantine in Algeria followed. In 1967 and 1969, respectively, their two daughters were born. In 1970 the divorce took place.

From 1972 to 1976 she studied sociology and clinical psychology at the University of Zurich and graduated in 1981 with a licentiate . After training in gestalt analysis , she began setting up a psychological counseling center for women and a practice in Zurich. In the following years she worked as a therapist, published theoretical works, gave lectures and taught at the School for Social Work in Zurich (1980/1981), at the Psychoanalytic Seminar in Zurich , at the Biel Engineering School in the architecture department (1980-1982) ) and at the Department of Visual Communication at the Zurich University of Art and Design (1995). In addition, she took part in urban development projects (Socioculture Project of the Social Department of the City of Zurich 1996/1997). In 1998 she co-founded the office for gender issues in Zurich. In 2006 she closed her practice.

As a writer, after her first lyrical attempts at the end of the 1960s, she cultivated the connection between text and music. She worked with composers and improvising musicians and realized her own concepts as an improvising musician (voice, piano, guitar) during readings and performances. She was a member of the Interco group , belongs to the improvisation quartet Bunte Hörschlocken and deals with instant composing in various ways . From 1998 she worked in the DamenDramenLabor (DDL) and developed various theater texts. In 1993, in collaboration with Urs Graf and Alfred Zimmerlin , the film The Color of the Sound of the Image of the City was made . For her literary, especially her lyrical work, she has received numerous grants and has received several awards.

In 2017 she was u. a. invited to the Seetaler poetry summer .
