Eliud Williams

Eliud Williams Thaddeus (born August 21, 1948 ) is a Dominican politician and was Dominicas President from 2012 to 2013, succeeding Nicholas Liverpool .

Life

Eliud William graduated from the University of the West Indies with a Masters degree in economics in 1995. From 1985 to 1987 he worked in the private sector and then worked in public administration until 2004. In 2004, he became head of the Eastern Caribbean Telecommunications Authority , an office he held until 2008.

After Nicholas Liverpool stepped down for health reasons, Eliud Williams was run by the Dominica Labor Party as a candidate for the presidential election. He was elected by parliament on September 18, 2012. His election was boycotted by the opposition United Workers Party because it considered the election to be unconstitutional.

In the presidential election on September 30, 2013, which was again boycotted by the opposition, Charles Savarin (also Dominica Labor Party ) was elected as Williams' successor.
