Elizna Naudé

Elizna Naudé (born September 14, 1978 in Vereeniging ) is a South African discus thrower .

Career

She won gold at the 1998 African Championships in Dakar and bronze at the 1999 Pan-African Games in Johannesburg.

In 2002 she was sixth at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester and won bronze at the African Championships in Radès .

After gold medals at the Pan-African Games in Abuja in 2003 and the 2004 African Championships in Brazzaville, she was eliminated from the qualification at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and the 2005 World Athletics Championships in Helsinki.

In 2006 she won the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and the African Championships in Bambous , in 2007 at the Pan-African Games in Algiers and in 2008 at the African Championships in Addis Ababa . At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 and at the 2009 World Cup in Berlin, however, she did not get past the first round again.

In 2010 in Nairobi she was African champion for the fourth time in a row. At the Continental Cup in Split and at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi she was seventh. At the Pan-African Games 2011 in Maputo and at the African Championships 2012 in Porto Novo, she won silver.

On March 4, 2005, she set an African record in Bloemfontein with 63.17 m, which she improved on March 2, 2007 in Stellenbosch to the current mark of 64.87.
