Elke Berninger-Schäfer

Elke Berninger-Schäfer (* 1958 ) is a German psychologist , psychotherapist , supervisor, senior coach, lecturer and teaching coach . She is the founder and owner of the Karlsruhe Institute and managing partner of CAI GmbH.

Life

After studying psychology at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg with a degree in psychology, she received her doctorate in 1996 from the Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen . Since 2017 she has been a professor at the University of Economics for Management .

She acquired additional qualifications for advisory and psychotherapeutic procedures such as coaching , supervision , client-centered psychotherapy , hypnotherapy and behavioral therapy .

From 1985 to 2013, the establishment and management of a psychological service in a general hospital, a hospice group, a psychotherapeutic practice, a coaching center and an institute for services in the areas of leadership, coaching and health for profit and non-profit organizations .

Since 2003 she has been involved in the development and implementation of training courses for business coaches and health coaches. In 2013 the IT company CAI GmbH was founded and the online platform CAI-World was developed. Since 2013 she has offered training as an online coach and since 2017 in digital leadership & coaching.

Activities in a scientific and quality assurance coaching context

She was involved in the development and management of the DBVC's research committee for several years. She has worked as a lecturer at various universities, e. B. University of Economics in Mannheim, Karlsruhe University of Technology and Economics , Ludwigsburg University of Education , Karlsruhe Institute of Technology , SRH University of Heidelberg , Andrássy University of Budapest and Zurich University of Applied Sciences . In addition, she was engaged in commissioning and accompanying various bachelor and master theses as well as doctorates in the coaching context. Since 2015 she has been the editor of the first German-language scientific coaching magazine “Coaching | Theory & Practice ”published by Springer-Verlag.

The main focus of work and research is the development of the coaching model of the Karlsruhe School based on empirically founded impact factors, digital leadership and health management as well as the implementation of these topics in online formats.
