Elke Platz-Waury

Elke Platz-Waury (* 1940 ) is a German literary scholar , author and professor . For many years she was chairwoman of the federal board of the Association of Universities and Science (vhw) in the German Association of Civil Servants .

Professional background

Elke Platz-Waury studied English , Romance studies , pedagogy and history in the 1960s . After completing her doctorate , she was appointed professor for applied foreign languages ​​in 1980. She is a retired professor at Heilbronn University . She was a member of the university council at the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences .

Memberships

Elke Platz-Waury was a member of the board of the German Student Union and was its vice-president for eight years and a member of the committee for student affairs of the German Rectors' Conference for nine years. Awards

She is the bearer of the Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in recognition of her academic and voluntary life's work.
