Ellen Humuth
Ellen Demuth (born July 10, 1982 in Linz am Rhein ) is a German politician ( CDU ). She has been a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament since 2011 .
Life
After graduating from high school in 2002, Demuth studied business administration at the International University Bad Honnef Bonn and the University of Technology in Melbourne , Australia . She completed her studies at the beginning of 2007 with a degree in business administration (FH) . After completing her studies, she worked as a consultant for the city administration in Brühl (Rhineland) until she moved into the state parliament in May 2011.
politics
Demuth joined the Junge Union in 1997 and became a member of the CDU in 2001. Since 2009 she has been a member of the district council of the Neuwied district and a member of the city council of her hometown Linz am Rhein.
In the state elections in 2011 she was elected as a CDU direct candidate for constituency 3 Linz am Rhein / Rengsdorf . In the current electoral term, she is chair of the study commission "Tourism as a strong economic and location factor for Rhineland-Palatinate", member of the committee for media, digital infrastructure and network policy as well as the committee for equality and the advancement of women, and also spokeswoman for the CDU parliamentary group in the state parliament for tourism , equality and the advancement of women and new media.
Demuth is a member of the commission of the State Commissioner for Data Protection, the Advisory Board of the State Office for Data and Information and the Board of Trustees of the “Rhineland-Palatinate for Culture” foundation. In April 2017, she was elected chairman of the study commission for the economic and location factor tourism in Rhineland-Palatinate .
On November 18, 2017, Demuth was elected deputy chairman of the CDU district committee CDU Koblenz-Montabaur.
In August 2017, she requested the removal of a decommissioned Centurion battle tank on private property near Linz on the Rhine , because she saw the installation as a mockery of all victims of war and violence, despite the peace doves attached by the owner . The state government refused this with reference to the War Weapons Control Act , to which the combat and unfit tanks would no longer be subject, and saw no way of removing them, the local authorities in the Neuwied district saw it that way.
Ellen Demuth has been a member of the Federal Committee for Social Cohesion of the CDU Germany since January 2019.
Since February 2019 Ellen Demuth has been ambassadors for the anti-sexism campaign LAUT♀STARK of the Ministry for Family, Women, Youth, Integration and Consumer Protection of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate.
On January 28, 2020, Ellen Demuth was appointed to the structure and constitution commission of the CDU Germany.
On January 29, 2020, the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament elected Ellen Demuth to the Rhineland-Palatinate Broadcasting Council. The term of office of the new Broadcasting Council of Südwestrundfunk begins on July 11, 2020.
