Ellingen (Altmark)

Until January 31, 1974, Ellingen was a municipality in the Osterburg district in the Magdeburg district , German Democratic Republic .

geography

The community of Ellingen was about 15 kilometers southeast of the former district town of Osterburg and about 4 kilometers west of the Elbe in the Altmark .

The Ellingen district today includes the areas of the former communities of Klein Ellingen and Groß Ellingen and the Altenau residential area . The district is located southeast of Hohenberg-Krusemark.

history

The municipality of Ellingen was created on July 1, 1950 through the merger of the municipalities of Groß Ellingen and Klein Ellingen from the Osterburg district . The two former communities became districts.

In 1955, the first type III agricultural production cooperative, the LPG "Geschwister Scholl" , was established in Klein Ellingen .

Incorporations

On July 25, 1952, the community of Ellingen was reclassified to the Osterburg district . On February 1, 1974, the municipality of Ellingen was incorporated into Hohenberg-Krusemark and thus dissolved. The two districts came to the municipality of Hohenberg-Krusemark. Ellingen did not become a district.
