The Elm is a 2128  m above sea level. A. high, pyramid-shaped mountain in the Dead Mountains on the Styrian side of the Salzkammergut . He gave the Elmsee its name.

The mountain can be easily climbed on a marked path (no. 214) from the northwest side. This leads from Gößl (am Grundlsee) over the valley of the Lahngangseen and the Pühringerhütte (1637 m) to the summit. Walking time from the Pühringerhütte: 1½ hours.

Another ascent route, which is only marked with cairns , leads over the south side of the mountain. Starting from the Vordernbach-Alm, over the "Rinnlan" (Lahn, Avalanche ) to the Ochsenkar , this is certainly the more eventful route for experienced mountain hikers.

The Vordernbach-Alm can be reached from Gößl via the same forest road as the starting point for the Lahngangseen. The quickest way to walk is via the so-called Prinzensteig, starting from Lake Toplitz , but this is only recommended for experienced mountaineers.
