Elmar Tannert

Elmar Tannert (born November 17, 1964 in Munich ) is a German writer .

Life

Elmar Tannert grew up in Nuremberg . He attended grammar school until 1981 ; he then completed an apprenticeship as a wholesale merchant . After 1991 on the second-chance education , the university had acquired, studied it musicology and Romance Studies at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg . In 1993 he broke off his studies and in the following years worked in various activities, including as a bookseller and parcel deliverer . Since 2003 he has lived as a freelance writer in Nuremberg .

Elmar Tannert is a writer of novels and short stories . He also translates from French and Czech . In 1999 he received a literary award from the Free State of Bavaria and the cultural award from the city of Nuremberg, and in 2001 the cultural award from the Middle Franconia district . He has been married to the writer Tessa Korber since 2020 .
