Elmer Adler

Elmer Edward Adler (born January 30, 1892 in Buffalo , New York - † August 13, 1970 ) was an American major general in the United States Army Air Forces .

Life

Adler completed military training and subsequently found various uses as an officer. He took part in the First World War. During the Second World War he was from March 17 to May 13, 1941 commander of the 39th Bombardement Group and then until November 1941 chief of the staff of the maintenance command of the Provisional Air Corps. In this use took place on September 15, 1941, his promotion to lieutenant colonel (Lieutenant-Colonel) . After six weeks later, on November 1, 1941 Brigadier General (Brigadier-General) had been promoted, he was from November 1941 to 1942 served as Director of the aviation section of the US military mission in North Africa (US North African Mission) and Chief Representative of the Commanding Generals in the US Army Air Forces in Africa , the Middle East and India .
