Elmo Noel Joseph Perera

Elmo Noel Joseph Perera (born December 4, 1932 in Madampe , † April 9, 2015 ) was Bishop of Galle .

Life

Elmo Noel Joseph Perera was ordained a priest on December 21, 1960 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Galle and titular bishop of Gadiaufala on December 17, 1992 . The Pope personally donated him episcopal ordination on January 6 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Giovanni Battista Re , substitute for the State Secretariat , and Justin Francis Rigali , secretary of the Congregation for Bishops .

On June 1, 1995, he was appointed Bishop of Galle.

Pope John Paul II granted his resignation for health reasons on October 11, 2004.
