Harold Anthony Perera

Harold Anthony Perera (born June 9, 1951 in Bopitiya ) is a Sri Lankan priest and Bishop of Kurunegala .

Life

The Archbishop of Colombo , Nicholas Marcus Fernando , ordained him a priest on July 5, 1980 . John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Ratnapura on January 29, 2003 .

The Assistant Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , Albert Malcolm Ranjith Patabendige Don , consecrated him bishop on March 18 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Oswald Thomas Colman Gomis , Archbishop of Colombo , and Thomas Savundaranayagam , Bishop of Jaffna .

He was appointed Bishop of Galle on February 15, 2005, and was introduced to the office on March 8 of the same year. Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Kurunegala on May 14, 2009 .
