Elsa Wertheim , actually Elisabeth Wertheim , married Elisabeth Slezak or Elsa Slezak , ( April 24, 1874 in Vienna - May 27, 1944 in Rottach-Egern ) was an Austrian theater actress .

Life

Elsa Wertheim began her stage career in 1891 at the Potsdam Theater and joined the Association of the “New Theater” in Berlin in 1893, came to the City Theater in Brno in 1895 and to the Raimund Theater in Vienna in 1896 , where she stayed for two years. In 1898 she followed a call to the Breslau City Theater. She stayed there until 1901 and then retired from the stage.

It was generally valid in the field of youthful-sentimental lovers, supported by a sympathetic stage appearance, for an extremely talented actress.

On February 15, 1900, she married her colleague Leo Slezak . Her children were Margarete Slezak , opera singer and Walter Slezak , actor. Erika Slezak (* 1946), Walter Slezak's daughter, is also an actress.
